MIHAS 2015 came and went.
This year saw several new pavilions such as the South Africa, Morocco and the Arabs. Too bad we got in only on the 4th day when the excitement has died down and many of the exhibitors had only home in their mind.
We walked from Hall 1 to Hall 6, passing one booth to another. Once in a while we stopped to sample some offerings of this and that. Very nice layout and easy to follow direction. Good thing I was wearing my sneakers!
I was looking for something different but only one or two booth looked promising. I was also expecting some new, innovative meat processing supplier but did not find one. However, we found a booth that was promoting halal meat from France. Tasted some of the sliced meat and they were good.
I also noticed that there is a rising trend of TV dinners ranging from briyani to noodles to nasi lemak. Endless tongkat ali and collagen drinks and not forgetting the myriad flavours and manners of coffee.
What else is new?
We arrived at the Indonesian pavilion. Plenty of booths selling beauty products as well as rendang in pouches. The crazy part? Each pouch was retailing between RM30 to RM35. Errr…sorry dudes, Malaysians are not THAT crazy over TV dinners.
